Special Thailand Custom Volunteer Group
Presenting a special Thailand custom volunteer group that we hosted here in Chiang Mai last month. It's a group of 53 volunteers from an accounting firm based out of the US. The group helped teach English at a few primary schools in the Chiang Mai area. They also took part in an Elephant activity day, market visits, a meeting with bilingual Buddhist monks, and a Thai cooking course. It was wonderful hosting this group, and we hope to see other groups of corporate volunteers in the future. Here are some photos of the group.
10 Safety Tips for Female Volunteers
The overwhelming majority of people that take part in international volunteer projects are women. In our own Friends for Asia Programs, 80% of our volunteers and interns are women. As most volunteers and interns take part in programs individually, there's a lot to be aware of before jumping on a plane to the other side of the planet.
Volunteer or Intern in Thailand
These projects provide authentic access to Thai communities, beyond typical tourist experiences. The connections formed while volunteering create lasting impacts, both for volunteers and the local people whose lives they touch.
