10 Year Anniversary - Friends for Asia!
Wow, has the time flown by. This month is an extra exciting one as it marks our 10th year of operations and anniversary here at the Friends for Asia Foundation. What started as a one person staff and team back in November 2007, has now expanded to multiple staff, volunteers and hubs around Thailand. <br />
Schools in Thailand Re-Open for 2nd Term
November is upon us, and after a quieter October, things are starting to pick up. Early November sees the schools re-opening for the second term, which means here at Friends for Asia, we are back in full swing. <br />
Bangkok Groups 58 and 59
Presenting Bangkok Volunteer Groups 58 and 59! Two small groups during our quiet October. Due to the schools being closed in Thailand, our project opportunities are limited in October. <br />
Loy Krathong 2017
Loy Krathong is considered to be one of oldest and best-preserved traditions in Thailand. It is the time of the year when Thai people pay respect to the goddess of the river, Phra Mae Khongkha, for providing water to support their lives throughout the year. Loy Krathong takes place on the evening of the full moon of the 12th month in the traditional Thai Lunar calendar; therefore, the exact date of the festival changes every year. This year, Loy Krathong will be celebrated on Friday 3rd November. Since Loy Krathong has long been celebrated by Thai people, it is one of the Thai cultures that our volunteers should experience if they get a chance. There will be celebrations all around the country and we would like to share our handpicked four Loy Krathong events that are worth participating in. <br />

Chiang Mai Orientation Group #229
Presenting Chiang Mai Volunteer Group #229! They went through orientation over the weekend and started their projects this past Monday. A group of five volunteers, coming from Germany, Switzerland, Mexico, and the USA. They are participating in our Children's Home, Single Mother's Home and Elephant Camp Volunteer Projects. Chiang Mai Volunteer Group #228
Presenting Chiang Mai Volunteer and Intern Group #228! This group of five volunteers and interns arrived a couple of weeks ago, and started their projects on Monday of last week. Five new volunteers and interns from the Netherlands, Austria, Switzerland and the USA. They are participating in our Medical Internship, Children's Home, and Elephant Camp Volunteer Projects. Presenting Chiang Mai Volunteer Group #227! This group arrived earlier in September. Ten new volunteers and interns in this group, coming from Austria, Germany, Colombia, Denmark, Belgium, Ireland and the USA. The volunteers and interns in this group are taking part in our Medical Internship, English Education, Teaching Monks, Children's Home, Teaching Monks and Elephant Camp Volunteer Projects. Presenting Bangkok Volunteer Group #57! This group of three volunteers arrived over the weekend and started in their projects on Monday. The volunteers in this group are from Austria, Germany, and Mexico, and are taking part in our Bangkok Orphanage, English Education and Kindergarten Volunteer Projects.<br />
