Chiang Mai Volunteer Accommodation – Friends for Asia
Friends for Asia’s Chiang Mai accommodation is safe and secure, and it provides a strong sense of community for international volunteers during their stay. Friendships forged here regularly outlast the time volunteers spend on assignment.
Our Chiang Mai Friends for Asia volunteer accommodation is the perfect spot to unwind after a day of volunteering. Located in a convenient area in the middle of Chiang Mai city, our two volunteer houses are only minutes apart and accommodate up to 35 people in air-conditioned bedrooms that provide respite from the hot, sunny days of northern Thailand. While volunteering on our project sites provides authentic, one-of-a-kind cultural experiences, it’s still nice to know that you can retreat to our comfortable living room, watch English movies, Skype your friends and family and surf the Internet in your free time. Bangkok Volunteer Accommodation – Friends for Asia
Bangkok is a world-class metropolis, but it has something of a layout dilemma. This is a sprawling city, and it can take much longer than expected to connect between any two points in the Thai capital. This is only exacerbated by traffic, which is intense throughout the day and particularly during the grueling rush hours.
When volunteers are looking for a place to stay in Bangkok, one of the most important considerations is access to public transport. We chose a location along the BTS skytrain. This means, regardless of where you are headed, you can ride above the gridlock, and connect quickly to any other location along major public transport arteries.
We also have great local full-time Thai coordinators on staff to help with logistics. View more information and pictures of our Bangkok volunteer and intern accommodation.
Chiang Mai Rural Schools Volunteer Accommodation
In our Rural Schools Volunteer Project, volunteers can either choose the option to travel back and forth from the center of Chiang Mai and the project site, or to stay at the project site (school). In this second option, the volunteer accommodation’s creature comforts and amenities vary greatly. For this reason, volunteers that choose this option for this project need to remain flexible and are ready to “rough it” with clean, safe, but basic types of accommodation.
Chiang Mai Elephant Camp Volunteer Accommodation
Elephant Camp Volunteers spend their Mondays to Fridays in our volunteer accommodation at the camp. On the weekends, Elephant Camps volunteers return to Chiang Mai where they can share the week’s stories with our staff and their fellow volunteers. This accommodation is rustic and unforgettable.
All the accommodation at the Elephant Camp has electricity and hot water showers. Considering the fact that there is no Internet or televisions at the camp, volunteers usually spend their evenings strolling the grounds of the elephant camp, helping the cooks prepare dinner and singing karaoke with the mahouts at the village’s only karaoke bar.
